Anahata Activation Meditation

Description:

Anahata Meditation is a meditation that uses the bija mantra Yam together with Gyan Mudra to awaken and balance the energy of the heart center. One hand rests on the knee in Gyan Mudra while the other hand is held near the center of the chest, directing awareness and energy toward the heart space. The vibration of the mantra resonates through the chest, lungs, and upper spine, helping soften emotional tension and encourage openness, compassion, and emotional healing. The calm upright posture and meditative breathing create inner stillness while supporting a feeling of spaciousness and energetic expansion through the chest.

Chakras:

The repetition of the mantra strongly stimulates the Heart Chakra (Anahata), supporting love, compassion, emotional balance, and connection. The grounding and meditative quality of Gyan Mudra also gently activates the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna), helping cultivate inner awareness, calmness, and emotional clarity. The expansion through the chest and breath encourages freer energetic circulation throughout the upper body and central channel.

To practice:

Sit in a cross legged pose with the spine upright and the shoulders relaxed. Rest one hand on the knee in Gyan Mudra, with the tip of the index finger lightly touching the thumb, and place the other hand near the center of the chest in the same mudra. Close the eyes softly and bring awareness to the heart center. Begin chanting the mantra Yam slowly and steadily, allowing the vibration to resonate through the chest and upper body. Keep the breath smooth, relaxed, and natural while maintaining gentle awareness at the heart center throughout the meditation.
